Chiropractor Mandarin Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a condition where the median nerve becomes irritated and inflammed.  Increased pressure and stress on the nerve can cause the condition to worsen.

Difficulty grasping or picking up things, clumsiness, pain, burning, numbness, tingling in the wrist and hand and fingers may be some of the symptoms.  The stress causes of CTS may be causing other problems as well including neck and back pain, restricted motion in the neck, headaches, and fatigue.  Nerves which come together to form the median nerve originate in the neck.  If the nerves are irritated in the neck and the wrist, this is known as Double Crush Syndrome.  Experts believe that many people with conditions diagnosed as Carpal Tunnel Syndome have, in fact Double Crush Syndrome.  Surgery is many times ineffective.

Rehabilitation that is non-invasive could include techniques such as specific spinal adjustments and adjustments of the wrist to correct misalignments (without surgery) and specific exercise and traction.

Your nervous system can be damaged by Auto accidents, sports injuries, poor posture, computer use, the birth process, falls, repetitive motion injuries, stress.

Conservative Chiropractic treatment and rehabilitation combined with supportive nutrition can be of great benefit and with this approach used by chiropractors, the body is not disturbed and the harmful effects of surgery and drugs are avoided.

How does chiropractic treatment effect carpal tunnel syndrome??

October 21, 2009

Mel, very good question. The nerve roots coming out from the neck (cervical spine) come together to form several nerves….one being the median nerve that travels through the carpal tunnel. Many people suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms also have postural distortion and nerve stress from misaligned spinalvertebra (vertebral subluxation). In many cases an individualized program of care can help those people. Gentle and specific spinal adjustments with specific spinal rehabilitation works to correct postural distortions and spinal subluxation. The body is then given the best opportunity to heal and function without nerve system interference.
