Patient Forms
Upon completing the intake information you will be given a brief tour of the office to show you the adjusting rooms where our patients receive gentle and safe specific adjustments that are designed to reduce pressure and irritation on the nerve system to allow the body to function better.
You will see the rehabilitative area where work is done to improve function by correcting posture and structural alignment and balance. Modalities of treatment in the rehab area include exercise and tractioning, and neuromuscular reeducation. You will see the exam and X-ray room.
Consultation
After this brief 2 minute tour of the office you will be take to the consultation area. After reviewing your intake information you will be introduced to Dr Peter Adams. Dr. Adams will also welcome you to the office and explain to you how we are unique and different from other offices and what he will be looking for on this visit to determine if he can help you.
Dr Adams will conduct a very thorough consultation with you regarding your health concerns. He will ask about your health and trauma history and dig to find the underlying causal factors that may be contributing to your condition. You will also be asked about how your pain or condition is impacting the different areas of your life. You also may be asked about your goals and what you want to achieve with Chiropractic care.
Examination
After the consultation Dr. Adams may recommend that we proceed with an examination which usually involves a postural analysis, range of motion, palpation of the spine for swelling, tenderness, and muscle spasm. An orthopedic test and a neurological test are also performed.
X-Ray Studies
The main focus of the Chiropractic examination will be to identify any areas of nerve system interference and pressure and postural distortions. If examination reveals any areas of nerve irritation and/ or postural distortions Dr Adams may recommend X-rays be taken of that area of the spine.
The X-rays are developed and you will be scheduled for the next visit. Dr. Adams will spend detailed time analyzing the X-rays. Measurements are taken using degrees and millimeters to properly assess the spinal balance and alignment. A second visit is then scheduled at which time you will be able to see your X-rays. You will be able to see where normal balance and alignment are supposed to be and see where they actually are.
Report of Findings
Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Peter Adams will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:
- How can you help me?
- How often do I need to come in?
- What will my treatment cost?
After reviewing your health history, goals, and examining your spine and X-rays, Dr. Peter Adams will discuss recommendations and notify you if your condition requires care with other providers. Dr. Peter Adams will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.
